The Oyo State Government has announced the arrest of five suspected terrorists in connection with an attack on a security base in the Oke Ogun area of the state.

The Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, saying more arrests were expected.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday at a security base along the Igbeti–Igboho Road. The attackers reportedly made away with a generator and a motorcycle during the incident.

According to Oyelade, the suspects were arrested while wearing military uniforms.

“Not less than five of the terrorists have been arrested in military uniforms. More arrests are expected to be made,” he said.

Oyelade also disclosed that the Acting Governor of Oyo State, Bayo Lawal, visited the scene of the attack.

The government has not provided further details on the identities of the suspects or the circumstances surrounding their arrests.
