Egbewole Congratulates AbdulRazaq on Sardauna of Ilorin Title

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, on his conferment with the traditional title of Sardauna of Ilorin by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, Egbewole described the title as a fitting recognition of the governor’s commitment to preserving the values and heritage of Ilorin.

The vice chancellor said AbdulRazaq had demonstrated patriotism and commitment to the development of Kwara State both before and since assuming office as governor in 2019.

Egbewole also commended the governor for what he described as significant infrastructural development across Ilorin and the state. He cited the Tanke flyover and the rehabilitation of the road linking the University of Ilorin with the city as projects particularly valued by the university community.

He further praised AbdulRazaq for his investments in education, including the establishment of the Kwara State University of Education, Ilorin, and policies that have supported the growth of private universities in the state.

The vice chancellor also acknowledged the governor’s appointment of several University of Ilorin alumni and staff members to key positions in the state government and its higher education institutions.

Egbewole thanked the Emir of Ilorin for conferring the traditional title on AbdulRazaq and described the honour as a recognition of the governor’s contributions to the community.

He wished the governor a peaceful and successful tenure as Sardauna of Ilorin.
