The Ilorin Women Association (IWA) has congratulated the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on his historic turbaning as the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate.
The turbaning ceremony was held on Tuesday, September 16, 2026, at the palace of the Emir of Ilorin.
In a congratulatory message signed by its Global Coordinator, Prof. Aishatu Gobir, the association described the honour as well-deserved and a testament to the governor’s dedication and transformative leadership.
The group also commended the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for his foresight and wisdom in bestowing the prestigious traditional title on the governor.
According to the association, the title reflects the unprecedented socio-economic growth the state has witnessed under Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration and the deep appreciation of the entire Emirate for his inclusive governance.
IWA said it is particularly proud of the governor’s contributions to women empowerment, youth development, and his commitment to peaceful coexistence in the state.
The association prayed Almighty Allah to grant the governor sound health, wisdom and strength to steer the state to greater heights and wished him a peaceful and impactful reign as a pillar of the traditional institution.
