Nigeria’s Falconets have crashed out of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
The Falconets fell 0-1 to Colombia in their Round of 16 clash on Sunday evening.
Emirate Radio representative, AROWONA ABDULAZEEZ who watched the match live at the Stadion Miejski ŁKS in Łódź city of Poland gathered that substitute Valerin Loboa scored the winner for Colombia in the second minute of added time, 90+2′, after a tense encounter.
Nigeria had dominated proceedings with 14 goal attempts against Colombia’s 5, but poor finishing cost the team.
The Falconets were reduced to 10 players in the 77th minute after Kafayat Mafisere was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Despite holding on with a player down, Nigeria conceded late to exit the competition.
The defeat ends Nigeria’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup holding in Poland.
