Security operatives have arrested a newly recruited Forest Guard trainee, Zahraddin Abdullahi Karadua, over allegations that he supplied ammunition to suspected bandits in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Karadua was reportedly arrested during his training and is being questioned over his alleged role in the movement of ammunition to criminal groups operating in the area.

In a video obtained Karadua is seen being questioned about the alleged transaction. He reportedly told investigators that he collected ammunition from a man identified as Muhammadu in Kano before transporting it to Karadua, where he allegedly handed it to a woman identified as Sahiba.

Sahiba was also reportedly questioned and allegedly admitted receiving the ammunition. She reportedly told investigators that she later transported it to a suspected bandit camp near Maharba village.

The allegations have not been independently verified, and the identities and roles of those mentioned remain subject to investigation.

The case has raised further concerns about alleged civilian networks involved in supplying weapons and logistical support to armed groups operating in parts of northern Nigeria.

Authorities are expected to investigate the alleged supply chain and determine whether other individuals were involved.
