APM Candidate Announces N200m Bursary for Bauchi Students

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Yakubu Adamu, has announced a N200 million bursary programme for students from the state studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

The Director-General of the Yakubu Adamu Governorship Campaign Council, Hamza Koshe Akuyam, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, describing the initiative as part of the candidate’s broader efforts to support education and youth development.

Akuyam said the bursary was intended to help ease students’ financial challenges and enable them to meet some of the costs associated with their studies.

According to him, the N200 million was drawn from donations made to Adamu by friends and supporters of his campaign. He said the candidate had redirected part of the funds towards the bursary programme in support of students.

The campaign council said the initiative was part of Adamu’s broader focus on education, entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, trade, artisanship and other areas of human development.

It also acknowledged the efforts of the Bauchi State Government under Governor Bala Mohammed in supporting students and the education sector, including through the Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme and scholarship payments to students in tertiary institutions.

The campaign council urged eligible Bauchi State students enrolled in tertiary institutions across the country to apply for the bursary through the designated online application platform.
