Popular Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, professionally known as Toluwanisings, has died. His family confirmed his death in a statement shared on his verified Instagram page on Wednesday night.

According to the family, the gospel minister passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

The statement read, “With deep sorrow, the family announces the passing of Minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry (TOGOMM), who passed away in the early hours of October 14, 2026.”

The family described him as a dearly loved husband, family member and gospel minister. It also appealed to the public to keep his wife, relatives and loved ones in their prayers during this difficult period.

Funeral arrangements, the family said, would be announced in due course.

Earlier on Wednesday, concern had grown over the singer’s health following reports that he slumped at his residence in Ibadan after complaining of tiredness. The incident reportedly occurred hours after he ministered at In His Presence, a monthly worship programme hosted by gospel singer Bidemi Olaoba in Ibadan on Tuesday night.

Toluwanisings’ death also comes months after he was involved in a road accident alongside members of his band while returning from a ministration.

Tributes have continued to pour in from colleagues and fans. Among those who reacted were lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi and comedian Woli Agba, who had earlier appealed for prayers for the singer.

His death has sparked sadness among fans and members of Nigeria’s gospel music community.
