Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has asked the State House of Assembly to approve the reappointment of three commissioners who served in his first term, alongside the appointment of 10 Special Advisers.
The requests were contained in a letter sent to the Speaker of the Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, on Monday, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Olayinka Oyebode.
The commissioner nominees are Dayo Apata (SAN) for Justice and Attorney-General, Akintunde Oyebode for Finance, and Oyebanji Filani for Health and Human Services.
The governor said the appointments were intended to ensure continuity in key sectors and support the effective take-off of his second-term administration.
According to the statement, the justice, finance and health portfolios are considered critical to the smooth running of government and the delivery of public services.
Oyebanji’s second-term administration was inaugurated on October 16. Last week, he also approved appointments in the power, road infrastructure and transportation sectors as part of efforts to strengthen governance.
