Tinubu Says Allah Ultimately Controls Political Power

President Bola Tinubu has said political power ultimately belongs to Allah, who has the authority to give it to one person and withdraw it in favour of another.

The President made the remarks on Monday after performing the lesser Hajj, Umrah, in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where he reflected on his visit to the Holy Ka’abah and the responsibilities of leadership.

According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu said he prayed for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians.

He stressed that anyone entrusted with political authority must exercise it responsibly, noting that power is ultimately in the hands of Allah.

Tinubu said he believed his prayers for wisdom and strength had been answered, adding that he remained committed to serving the country.

The President also expressed appreciation to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and members of his delegation access to pray inside the Ka’abah, describing the experience as historic.

Reaffirming his commitment to national development, Tinubu said he was determined to pursue prosperity and improve the country’s economic fortunes.

He described Nigeria’s economic foundation as solid, saying the country had emerged from a difficult period, while expressing optimism about its prospects.

The President also emphasised the need to invest in young Nigerians, saying leaders must prioritise the future of the next generation to leave a lasting legacy.

Members of the delegation included Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate; governors from Borno, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kaduna, Yobe and Kwara states, as well as business leaders Abdulsamad Rabiu and Wale Tinubu.
