Former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande has met with leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress in the state to review the party’s preparations for Saturday’s governorship election.

The meeting was held at Akande’s country home in Ila Orangun on Saturday, with his former deputy, Senator Iyiola Omisore, among those in attendance.

A photograph taken after the meeting, showing Akande and Omisore walking hand-in-hand, circulated widely on Sunday.

Two participants, who spoke to The PUNCH on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to comment on the meeting, said the party’s governorship campaign was reviewed.

According to them, the meeting also produced suggestions aimed at strengthening the APC’s chances in the election.

The meeting comes as political parties intensify their preparations and mobilisation ahead of the Osun governorship poll.
