Akpabio Urges Oyebamiji to Transform Osun With State Funds

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has urged the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, to ensure that state resources are used effectively to improve infrastructure and living conditions if elected.

Akpabio made the call in Osogbo while campaigning for Oyebamiji ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

He argued that Osun State receives sufficient federal allocations to support development and expressed concern over the
condition of infrastructure in parts of the state.

“No state government is borrowing money for projects, enough money is coming to the state and Osun should be better than what I have seen,” Akpabio said.

He cited the condition of the road linking Ibadan and Osogbo, saying some sections remained affected by potholes.

Akpabio urged Oyebamiji, if elected and sworn in, to begin work immediately on improving the state’s infrastructure and delivering public services.

“Once you are elected on Saturday and sworn in, you must immediately begin the progressive movement. You must transform Osun State,” he said.

The Senate President also urged the APC candidate to work with the Federal Government to attract development to the state and ensure that residents benefit from government programmes.

He called on Oyebamiji to use public funds responsibly, saying the people of Osun should be the primary beneficiaries of the state’s resources.

“Use Osun money for Osun people, as you transform the infrastructure, as you join us at the centre to ensure that Nigeria is transformed,” Akpabio said.
