The wife of Delta State content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu of Asaba, has denied allegations that her husband raped 20-year-old Favour Agbro, saying the pair only had an affair.

Ogbonna, 40, was arrested by the Delta State Police Command following allegations concerning Agbro, who later died after ingesting a toxic substance.

In a video posted on Ogbonna’s social media page on Wednesday, his wife said she remained supportive of her husband and rejected claims that he raped or caused the death of Agbro.

“Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody. I know my husband…. Odogwu Asaba did not rape Favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl,” she said.

She also urged the public not to rely on social media discussions to determine the facts of the case, stressing that the matter should be allowed to follow due process.

“Social media is not a courtroom. You people should bear that in mind,” she said.

The police had alleged that Ogbonna invited Agbro to Asaba on June 1, 2026, under the pretext of training her to monetise her TikTok and Facebook accounts through content creation. According to the police, he later took her to a hotel, where she was allegedly raped and physically assaulted.

The police said Agbro returned home distressed and told her parents about the alleged incident before recording a video about her experience. She later ingested a toxic substance and died while receiving treatment.

The command said Ogbonna’s arrest followed a petition from Agbro’s family and that investigations were ongoing. Police authorities subsequently stated that he would be charged to court.

Ogbonna has not been convicted of any offence, and the allegations against him remain subject to investigation and determination by the appropriate authorities.
