The traditional ruler of Igbesi community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, Oba Moses Oyinloye Iwedunmoye I, has regained his freedom after being abducted by armed men.

A source in the community confirmed the monarch’s release on Thursday, saying he was freed by his captors after several days in captivity.

“The Kabiyesi Onigbesi of Igbesi land was released today,” the source said.

Oba Oyinloye was abducted late on Saturday, August 22, when armed bandits invaded Igbesi community in Oke-Onigbin at about 11 p.m.

The attackers reportedly stormed the community and whisked the monarch away, sparking concern among residents and traditional leaders in the area.

Igbesi is a community in Oke-Onigbin, located in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State within the Kwara South Senatorial District.

Authorities have yet to provide official details on the circumstances surrounding the monarch’s release or whether any arrests have been made in connection with the abduction.
