INEC Uploads NDC’s New Logo After Court Order

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded the new logo of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to its official website, following a Federal High Court judgment directing the commission to recognise the party’s modified design.

INEC also updated the NDC’s leadership details on its website. Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe is listed as National Chairman, while Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu is identified as National Secretary.

John Odey is listed as National Treasurer, Mainasara Abubakar Sani as National Financial Secretary, and Reuben Egwuaba as National Legal Adviser.

The commission indicated that the five leadership positions were updated “by court order”, while the listing of the new logo suggests that it has been recognised on the platform in compliance with the judgment.

The development follows a case filed by the NDC against INEC at the Federal High Court in Abuja under suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/1814/2026.

The dispute centred on INEC’s refusal to recognise and upload the modified logo and colour design adopted by the party after its first National Executive Committee meeting.

In a judgment delivered on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Justice J. O. Abdulmalik ruled in favour of the NDC.

The court held that INEC’s refusal to recognise the modified logo was unconstitutional and illegal, and amounted to an infringement of the political party’s rights.

The latest update on INEC’s website brings the commission’s records in line with the court’s decision.
