INEC Lists 12 Candidates for Kwara Central Senate Seat

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of 12 candidates contesting the Kwara Central Senatorial District seat in the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The list, signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, shows that the candidates are drawn from 12 political parties. It was published at INEC’s headquarters in Abuja.

Among those listed are former governorship candidate Abdulrazaq Abdulrahaman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), 56, and Mustapha Salihu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), 53.

Other candidates are Musa Aliyu of the Accord Party, 49; Adesola Kehinde of the Action Alliance, 43; Gani Omolabi of the Action Democratic Party, 42; and Gbadesogun Olufemi Adeleke of the Action Peoples Party, 62.

The list also includes Abdullahi Risikat Motunrayo of the African Democratic Congress, 59; Anjorin John Temitayo of the Allied Peoples Movement, 44; Abdulkarm-Adisa Maryam Ayoola-Fadekemi of the Labour Party, 56; and Adefolu Adekunle of the National Rescue Movement, 38.

Completing the list are Lawal Abdulhakeem Toyin of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, 52, and Suleiman Abdulrasheed Olufemi Omoda of the National Democratic Congress, 60.

INEC’s document indicates that two of the 12 candidates are women. It also states that all the candidates declared no physical disability.

The Kwara Central Senatorial District comprises Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Ilorin South and Asa Local Government Areas.
