Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of the Ilorin Emirate, has congratulated Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, on his emergence as the new Sardauna of Ilorin.

In a congratulatory message, Gobir described the title as a significant honour rooted in the history, traditions and heritage of the Ilorin Emirate.

He commended the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, for conferring the title on the governor in recognition of his leadership qualities and contributions to the emirate and its people.

According to Gobir, the Sardauna title represents courage, leadership, loyalty and dedicated service. He said AbdulRazaq’s elevation should be viewed not only as an honour but also as a call to greater responsibility.

“As a fellow title-holder in the Ilorin Emirate, I am particularly delighted to welcome you into this distinguished circle of traditional leadership,” Gobir said.

He expressed confidence that AbdulRazaq would bring to the position the leadership, dignity and commitment to public service that have characterised his career and tenure as governor.

Gobir also said the governor’s new role could contribute to the unity, progress and development of the Ilorin Emirate at a time when the community and state require purposeful leadership.

He wished AbdulRazaq a successful and impactful tenure, praying that Almighty Allah would grant him wisdom, good health and strength to discharge his responsibilities as Sardauna of Ilorin.
