Vice President Kashim Shettima is scheduled to arrive in Ilorin to inaugurate two major state infrastructure projects, coinciding with the historic turbaning of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as the new Sardauna of Ilorin.

The high-profile visit marks a busy day for the state capital, drawing a large convergence of federal officials, state governors, and traditional rulers.

The Vice President will first commission the Kwara Garment Factory, a signature industrial initiative of the current administration designed to create at least 4,000 jobs when running at full capacity.

Following that, he will unveil the new 11-storey Kwara Revenue Service (KWRS) headquarters. State authorities noted that the multi-storey administrative complex was prudently funded using internal savings generated from consultancy fees.

These initiatives represent a fraction of more than 30 capital projects executed across the state’s three senatorial districts.

The project commissioning will immediately precede the grand turbaning ceremony at the forecourt of the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin, followed by a formal reception.

An array of dignitaries is expected to grace the occasion, including state governors, federal ministers, heads of federal and state parastatals, military and police chiefs, and prominent political elites.

Organizers have confirmed that the events will receive extensive media attention.
