Barcelona midfielder Rodri has welcomed the prospect of Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez joining him at the Catalan club.

Rodri described Alvarez as a “sensational player” and said he would have no hesitation in bringing the Argentina international to Barcelona.

Alvarez has been linked with a move to Barcelona and is reportedly interested in joining the Spanish giants. Atletico Madrid, however, ultimately decided against selling the forward to the Catalan club.

“Would I sign him here? Of course,” Rodri told Mundo Deportivo.

“I think he is a sensational player. I would take him here without hesitation.

“I had the chance to play with him for two years, and I think he is an incredible player, truly incredible,” he added.

Rodri and Alvarez were teammates at Manchester City, where they played together for two seasons in the Premier League.
