Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the appointment of Alhaji Mashood Mustapha, Wakili of the Ilorin Emirate, as the Ameerul Hajj and leader of the state’s contingent for the 2027 Muslim pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

The appointment was contained in a statement issued in Ilorin by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mashood Abdulrafiu Agboola.

According to the statement, Mustapha will coordinate Kwara’s 2027 Hajj operations in collaboration with relevant statutory bodies and government agencies at various levels.

Mustapha, popularly known as MM, is an entrepreneur, public servant and community leader. He is the Chairman of Crystal Group of Companies and a former member of the Kwara State Executive Council.

He also served as a member of the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2015.

The new Ameerul Hajj is an alumnus of Kwara State Polytechnic, Lagos State University and Rome Business School, Italy.

His appointment places him at the head of the state’s delegation for the 2027 pilgrimage, with responsibility for coordinating arrangements and working with relevant authorities to facilitate the exercise.
