The 2027 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has vowed that he will never travel abroad for medical treatment if elected into office.

Appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Sowore stated that any medical condition he cannot treat domestically should be allowed to take its fatal course.

The opposition candidate emphasized that his administration would be entirely focused on serving the public interest rather than pursuing personal or family enrichment through the Presidency.

Expanding on his governance plans, Sowore declared that he would scrap the official Office of the First Lady, describing it as an unconstitutional position that drains public resources meant for critical developmental projects.

“Any sickness that I can’t treat in Nigeria when I become president should better kill me. I can tell you that for free,” Sowore said.

“I’m not bringing family liabilities back to Nigeria. There is no office of First Lady in the Nigerian Constitution. Becoming president will not abolish my marriage, but I will not have the office of First Lady.”

While maintaining that women would continue to have a strong voice under his administration, he argued against maintaining a taxpayer-funded office outside the scope of the law.
