Leeds Beat Tottenham To End Five-Match Premier League Winless Run

Leeds United ended their five-match winless run in the Premier League with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road on Saturday.

Substitute Noah Okafor scored the decisive goal in the 79th minute to hand Daniel Farke’s side all three points and end Tottenham’s three-match winning streak.

The match remained goalless at half-time, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. However, Leeds stepped up their attacking pressure after the break in search of a breakthrough.

Okafor eventually found the net after Harry Wilson created the opportunity from a throw-in. Wilson controlled the ball inside the penalty area before setting up the Swiss forward, who fired into the bottom corner past goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.

The goal was reviewed by the Video Assistant Referee over a possible handball by Wilson, but the referee allowed it to stand.

Tottenham, managed by Roberto De Zerbi, pushed for an equaliser but struggled to break down Leeds’ defence. Conor Gallagher came close with an effort that went narrowly wide, while James Trafford produced a save to deny Jan Paul van Hecke’s header from a corner.

The defeat ended Tottenham’s three-game winning run, which had included victories over Coventry City, Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

For Leeds, the victory marked their first Premier League win since beating Newcastle United 4-1 in September, providing a timely boost ahead of the November international break.
