The Ciroma of Ilorin, Alhaji Abubakar Bature Sulu-Gambari, SAN, will host Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and other eminent personalities at the public presentation of a book on Ilorin Emirate’s traditional institutions.
The book, titled “Traditional Governance, Palace Culture and Conflict Management in Ilorin Emirate,” is authored by Dr. Raheem Muritala, Personal Assistant to the Emir of Ilorin.
The event will take place at the Emir’s Palace, Ilorin, on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
According to a statement by the Chairman of the Media Committee, Dr. Gidado Bashir Alakawa, Governor AbdulRazaq is expected to chair the occasion, while renowned legal luminary, Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, will review the publication.
The book explores the Emirate’s governance structures, palace traditions and etiquette, as well as indigenous conflict-resolution mechanisms that have supported peace and communal harmony for generations.
It draws on Muritala’s years of research, observation and service within the palace to document the relationship between traditional leadership, cultural preservation and peacebuilding.
The publication examines these themes within the institution headed by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.
Traditional rulers, scholars, public officeholders, business leaders, titleholders and members of the Ilorin Emirate Council are expected at the presentation.
The book is expected to contribute to scholarship on traditional governance in Nigeria and provide a reference for researchers, students and custodians of cultural heritage.
