
Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has identified Ademola Lookman as Nigeria’s most influential player in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Speaking on the Global Football Insights podcast, Oliseh praised Lookman’s attacking mindset and forward-focused style of play.
“The player I think has been Nigeria’s most important player has been Lookman,” Oliseh said.
He added, “Lookman almost never passes the ball backward. He constantly plays forward, and that has made a real difference for Nigeria.”
The 28-year-old Atalanta forward has impressed in the tournament, scoring three goals and providing four assists for coach Éric Chelle’s team.
Lookman’s ability to drive Nigeria’s attack has been crucial in their run to the semi-finals.
He will aim to lead the Super Eagles against host nation Morocco on Wednesday in a highly anticipated semi-final clash.
