Kidnapped Construction Workers Freed In Kwara Community

All seven construction workers abducted in Owa Onire community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, have regained their freedom.

The development was confirmed on Monday by the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawy Olododo, who announced that the victims were released safely.

In a statement signed by the Press Secretary, Olajide Abolarin, the commissioner commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and security agencies for their coordinated efforts in ensuring the workers’ release.

Olododo said the rescue underscored the state government’s commitment to strengthening public safety and eliminating criminal activities, including kidnapping and banditry.

Among the freed victims are two engineers from the Kwara State Ministry of Works.

Expressing gratitude, one of the released workers said, “We are grateful to His Excellency and the security agencies. We also appreciate everyone who stood by us in this trying time.”

The commissioner reiterated the government’s resolve to continue working with security agencies to safeguard lives and property across the state.
