NIMC Launches Free Customer Service Line

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced a new customer service helpline to improve communication and service delivery to Nigerians.

The helpline is designed to provide timely assistance on issues relating to the National Identification Number (NIN), including enrolment, data modification, verification, and other related services.

NIMC said the initiative forms part of its ongoing efforts to enhance customer experience, reduce response times, and ensure efficient handling of complaints and enquiries.

Announcing the development on its official X account on Tuesday, the commission stated: “Introducing NIMC’s new customer service line 08000616462. It is zero cost, faster support and easy access.”

According to the commission, the helpline will operate during official working hours and serve as a direct channel for individuals seeking clarification or support on NIMC services.

NIMC urged the public to use the service responsibly and adhere to official procedures when seeking assistance, while warning against patronising unauthorised agents.

The commission reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s identity management system through technology-driven solutions.

It also reminded citizens that the National Identification Number remains essential for accessing government services, financial systems, and other national platforms, urging Nigerians to take NIN registration and verification seriously.
