Kano Approves Early Salary Payment for Civil Servants

The Kano State government has approved the immediate payment of March 2026 salaries to civil servants to help them prepare for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

The directive was issued by the state governor and announced in a statement released on Saturday by the Office of the Head of Service.

Acting Head of Service, Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, said the early payment was intended to enable workers to make adequate preparations for the Sallah festivities.

“The directive was given to enable workers to prepare adequately for the celebration of the forthcoming Eid el-Fitr in a convenient and dignified manner,” she said.

Maimota noted that the move reflects the administration’s concern for the welfare of civil servants and recognition of their contributions to the state’s development.

She also urged workers to make responsible use of the payment and remain committed to their duties.

According to her, civil servants should continue to demonstrate discipline, efficiency and dedication to improve service delivery in the state.

The government further reaffirmed its commitment to policies aimed at improving workers’ welfare and boosting productivity within the civil service.
