The Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA) has cautioned political aspirants and parties against erecting billboards without obtaining proper approval from the agency.
The warning was issued by the Acting General Manager, Toba Adeyeye, during an official visit to Kwara South as part of ongoing sensitisation and enforcement efforts.
Adeyeye said the move is aimed at protecting recent gains in urban renewal and environmental improvements under the administration of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“We will not allow any aspirant or political party to undermine the state’s progress with illegal billboard installations,” he said.
He reiterated that KWASAA remains open to all stakeholders for proper approvals related to advertising and signage, urging compliance with existing regulations.
The agency also disclosed plans to introduce a structured layout for political campaign advertisements across the state to promote orderliness, safety, and improved aesthetics.
As part of the initiative, KWASAA will host a stakeholders’ engagement forum in April for political aspirants and parties to provide guidance and encourage adherence to guidelines.
The agency urged all political actors to seek approval before installing billboard structures, warning that enforcement actions will be taken against violators.
