JUST IN…Emir Sulu-Gambari congratulates Muslims on successful completion of Ramadan 1447 AH

Ahead of Eid-el-Fitr sallah celebrations scheduled to hold tomorrow, Friday, 20th March 2026, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the entire Muslim Ummah in Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and across Nigeria on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH (2026).

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari who spoke from the Republic of Turkiye where he is currently observing his annual vacation stated this in a statement issued on Thursday by his Press Secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona.

He thanked Almighty Allah for granting him and the entire Muslim Ummah the strength, patience, and spiritual upliftment to observe the fasting, prayers, and acts of charity that define the sacred period.

The monarch also extended his goodwill message to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, governments at all levels as well as the entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council.

He further noted that, “Ramadan is not only a time of abstinence but also a period of deep reflection, compassion, discipline, and renewed devotion to Allah (SWT) stressing that, “As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I urge all Muslims to sustain the virtues learned during Ramadan such as piety, humility, generosity, tolerance, and love for one another.”

His words: “This joyous festival should also serve as a moment to promote peace, unity, and religious harmony in our communities and across the nation. Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity, and we must continue to live together in mutual respect and understanding, irrespective of faith or ethnic background.

“I call on all citizens to shun violence, intolerance, and actions capable of disrupting public order. Let us use this occasion to extend kindness to the less privileged, support the needy, reconcile with one another, and pray for lasting peace, security, and prosperity in our dear country.”

While extending his greetings to every homes, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari said; “I besiege Almighty Allah to accept our fast, prayers, and good deeds, forgive our shortcomings, and grant us many more years to witness Ramadan in good health and faith.”

He therefore appealed to Kwara residents to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr with decorum and obey law and order before, during and after the festival.
