BREAKING: Suspected Explosion Hits Kwara Community, Casualties Feared

A suspected bomb explosion has struck Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area, leaving several people feared dead, although the exact number of casualties remains unclear.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident, but residents believe the explosion may have been caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) allegedly linked to Boko Haram militants.

The latest development comes weeks after suspected terrorists attacked Woro and nearby Nuku communities, killing at least 75 people and destroying several homes.

Following that earlier attack, Bola Tinubu ordered the deployment of an army battalion to strengthen security in the area.

As of Monday, authorities had yet to issue an official statement on the latest explosion.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force in Kwara State, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, for confirmation and details were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.

Residents say the situation has heightened fears in the community as security agencies continue efforts to assess the incident and restore calm.
