Zelensky Alleges Russia Sharing Intelligence With Iran

Volodymyr Zelensky has alleged that Russia is providing intelligence support to Iran, warning that such cooperation could further heighten tensions in the Middle East.

In his nightly video address on Monday, Zelensky cited information from Ukraine’s military intelligence agency, the HUR, indicating that Moscow continues to assist Iranian authorities with intelligence-related backing. He did not provide further operational details.

The Ukrainian leader also said he had received additional security briefings from the country’s domestic intelligence service, the SBU, as Kyiv monitors developments linked to Russia’s external partnerships.

Zelensky cautioned against allowing Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine to benefit from shifting geopolitical dynamics, particularly changes in global oil prices, which he said could strengthen Moscow’s capacity to sustain its military campaign.

He commended Ukrainian forces for what he described as precise recent strikes on Russian oil infrastructure, calling the sector a critical source of funding for the Kremlin’s war effort.

Zelensky further warned that intelligence reports suggest Russia may be preparing a major attack, as Ukraine continues to defend itself against the full-scale invasion launched by Moscow in February 2022.

He stressed that developments beyond Ukraine’s borders, including Russia’s ties with other regional actors, could have broader international security implications.
