Gbenga Daniel Denied Entry to APC Meeting

Former Gbenga Daniel, ex-governor of Ogun State and senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, said he was denied access to an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting held on Monday in Ijebu Ode.

Daniel disclosed the development in a video that circulated online, showing him addressing supporters from a campaign bus outside the venue of the meeting at Adeola Odutola Hall.

“We are here for our Ogun East APC caucus meeting, but surprisingly, we have been barred; we are told that we can’t enter,” he said in the video. He added that any decisions taken at the meeting without his participation would be “null and void.”

The emergency stakeholders’ meeting was convened by party leaders in Ijebu Ode and was expected to include deputy governors, current and former local government chairmen, councillors, and past and serving members of both the state and National Assembly.

There was no immediate official response from local APC leadership on the reason for the reported denial of access.
