
United States immigration authorities have arrested a Nigerian national in Los Angeles over prior convictions linked to sexual offences.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations office in Los Angeles announced the arrest in a statement shared on X, identifying the suspect as 53-year-old Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo.
According to the agency, Olusanjo was arrested on April 21, 2026, and is currently in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
ICE said the suspect has a criminal history that includes offences such as child molestation, sexual battery and soliciting lewd conduct.
A video accompanying the announcement showed the suspect in handcuffs being escorted from an ICE vehicle into a detention facility, with a narrator describing him as a convicted sex offender and a Nigerian citizen.
Authorities confirmed that Olusanjo remains in custody as legal processes related to his deportation continue.
