The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State has taken custody of a teenage girl found wandering in Osogbo, appealing to the public for help in identifying her family.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, the command said the girl—estimated to be between 15 and 16 years old—was discovered along the Odi-Olowo area by concerned residents and handed over to authorities for safety.
According to the NSCDC, the girl is both hearing and speech impaired, making it difficult for her to provide any information about her identity, family, or place of residence.
“The minor… has not been able to provide any useful information regarding her identity, family or place of residence,” the statement said.
The command, led by Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo, urged anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist in reuniting the girl with her relatives.
Parents or guardians searching for a missing child matching her description were also advised to contact the NSCDC office along Iwo-Ibadan Road, Onibueja, Ido-Osun.
The agency reiterated its commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals and ensuring their safe return to their families.
