Troops Kill Three Suspected Terrorists in Katsina

Troops of the Nigerian Army attached to the 17 Brigade have neutralised three suspected terrorists during an ambush operation in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area.

The operation was carried out on Friday night by troops deployed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) FUDMA along the Turare-Kitibawa-Kuka-Mai Damusa Road.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by Abayomi Adisa.

According to the statement, the troops had taken strategic positions in the area as part of ongoing offensive operations against terrorists and other criminal groups operating in Katsina State.

The Army said the suspects were intercepted at about 9:40 p.m. while fleeing military operations in the Matazu area.

“Three terrorists were neutralised while one AK-47 rifle, one magazine loaded with three rounds of ammunition, one motorcycle, three cutlasses, assorted charms and a cash sum of N3,500 were recovered,” the statement said.

The military added that troops had continued offensive operations aimed at flushing out criminal elements and restoring peace across affected communities in the state.

The Army also called on residents to support security agencies with timely and credible intelligence to strengthen ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
