BREAKING…. JAMB Releases New Admission Cut-Off Scores Nationwide

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into Nigerian universities for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The decision was announced on Monday during the board’s annual policy meeting held in Abuja, where key education stakeholders reviewed admission benchmarks for tertiary institutions across the country.

According to JAMB, the resolution followed a vote by vice-chancellors present at the meeting, who agreed on the new minimum score for university admission.

The board also confirmed that heads of tertiary institutions collectively approved a unified benchmark for admissions across different categories of schools.

Under the new arrangement, the Minimum Admissible Score for universities has been set at 150.

For Colleges of Nursing, the agreed cut-off mark is also 150, while polytechnics will admit candidates with a minimum score of 100.

Officials say the harmonised thresholds are aimed at standardising admission requirements and ensuring consistency across institutions nationwide.

Further details on the implementation of the policy are expected to be released by JAMB in due course.
