APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji promises to recall 2,000 sacked Osun workers

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged to recall about 2,000 teachers and health workers disengaged by the state government in 2022 if elected governor.

Oyebamiji made the promise after meeting with over 1,500 teachers and 515 health workers affected by the disengagement exercise, describing their situation as unfortunate and unjust.

He said the affected workers, who had served the state diligently, have been left unemployed for nearly three years without salaries, arrears, or job security.

According to him, no responsible government should abandon qualified professionals who are willing to serve, insisting that such actions undermine trust in public service and affect morale across critical sectors like education and healthcare.

He assured the workers that his administration would prioritise their reinstatement, adding that salary arrears and outstanding promotion entitlements would also be addressed.

“Under our administration, their concerns will be treated with fairness, compassion, and sincerity. We will ensure their return to work, settle their outstanding arrears, and restore dignity to the public service,” he said.

Oyebamiji further stated that Osun State deserves a leadership that values workers as essential partners in development, promising to restore confidence in governance and rebuild trust between government and public servants.
