
Seven serving members of the House of Representatives in Zamfara State have secured return tickets under the platform of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The results of the APC National Assembly primaries were announced on Monday night by the chairman of the primaries committee in the state, Bello Maigari.
Maigari said the exercise was conducted peacefully and described the process as orderly. He urged unsuccessful aspirants to accept the outcome in the spirit of democracy.
He also disclosed that a committee had been set up to address petitions and complaints from aspirants, with sittings scheduled to begin on May 19, 2026.
Among the lawmakers who secured tickets was Abdulmalik Zubairu, who won the Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency primary with 46,000 votes.
Bello Hassan Shinkafi also emerged victorious with 23,007 votes, while Kabiru Amadu secured the APC ticket for Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency after polling 85,723 votes out of 87,995 votes cast.
In Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency, Suleiman Ahmad Gummi defeated Kabiru Gayari with 31,299 votes.
For Bakura/Maradun Federal Constituency, Muhammad Abba Sani defeated Muntaqa Rini with 34,282 votes, while Isah Muhammad Anka won the Talata Mafara/Anka Federal Constituency ticket with 35,139 votes.
The APC said the primaries demonstrated the party’s commitment to internal democracy and peaceful electoral processes.
