Kwara Pilgrims Set for Movement to Muna

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board says preparations have been completed for the movement of pilgrims from the state to Muna, near Mecca, ahead of key Hajj rites.

Chairman of the Board, Prof. Moshood Mahmood Jimba, said pilgrims would begin moving to Muna in batches for the Jamarat exercise, with the relocation expected to continue through the night.

Jimba told journalists that the Board had also finalized arrangements for the pilgrims’ stay at Muna and their participation in activities at the plain of Arafat.

“We have visited the sites in Muna and Arafat, identified our tents, and put necessary arrangements in place. We pray for a peaceful and successful exercise,” he said.

According to him, all Kwara pilgrims had safely arrived in Mecca from Medina and had been settled in their respective hotels, while feeding and welfare arrangements were being provided as scheduled.

The Board chairman described the 2026 contingent from Kwara as one of the most disciplined groups he had overseen, noting that the pilgrims had complied with regulations and avoided misconduct.

He also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for supporting the Board throughout the Hajj operations.

Speaking separately, the Ameerul-Hajj and Etsu Tsaragi, Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa, said the pilgrims were in good spirits and fully prepared for the movement to Muna and Arafat.

He praised the pilgrims for obeying the laws and regulations of Saudi Arabia, adding that no cases of misconduct had been recorded among the Kwara contingent.

Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, also advised pilgrims to observe moderation during activities in Muna, Muzdalifah, and Arafat to ensure their safety throughout the Hajj rites.
