NDC Dismisses Crisis, Targets Aso Rock in 2027

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports of internal divisions, insisting that the party remains united and focused on winning the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement posted on its verified X account on Friday, the party denied claims of a crisis within its ranks, stressing that its attention is firmly on its political objectives.

“There are no issues in the NDC. We are focused on taking Aso Rock,” the party stated.

The clarification comes shortly after the party’s national leader, Seriake Dickson, held a closed-door meeting with the NDC’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Speaking on the meeting, Dickson said both leaders reviewed party activities and discussed recent developments that had generated concerns among members and supporters.

According to him, all issues raised during the discussions were resolved amicably.

He added that the party would continue consultations and engagement among its members to address concerns, strengthen unity, and maintain focus ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The NDC leadership expressed confidence in the party’s cohesion and reaffirmed its commitment to building a strong platform capable of challenging for power at the national level.
