Ochei Reacts to Court Ruling on NDC Registration

Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Delta North Senatorial candidate Victor Ochei has described the Federal High Court judgment in Kogi State concerning the party’s registration as a temporary setback, expressing confidence that the matter will be resolved through legal channels.

Speaking in Asaba on Saturday, the former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly said the party respects the judicial process but disagrees with the court’s decision.

Ochei said he supports the NDC leadership’s decision to challenge the judgment through lawful and constitutional means, stressing that history has shown that temporary setbacks do not determine the outcome of a just cause.

He urged his supporters, volunteers, political associates and residents of Delta North Senatorial District to remain calm and focused, assuring them that the legal challenge would not derail the party’s objectives.

“My aspiration has never been about politics for its own sake. It is founded on a sincere commitment to deliver quality representation, responsive leadership and tangible opportunities for the people of Delta North,” he said.

Ochei added that the party’s commitment to justice, inclusion, service and good governance remains unchanged despite the legal challenge.

He also expressed confidence in Nigeria’s judicial system, saying he believes the case will ultimately be resolved in the party’s favour through due legal process, while urging members to remain united, peaceful and hopeful.
