
Adamawa State Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor David Jatau, has died after a brief illness.
The commissioner’s death was confirmed on Saturday in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Humwashi Wonosikou. According to the statement, Jatau passed away in Abuja.
During his tenure, Jatau led several initiatives aimed at improving food security, increasing agricultural productivity and empowering farmers across Adamawa State.
Governor Fintiri described the late commissioner as a loyal and dedicated public servant who combined academic excellence with a strong commitment to public service.
“Professor Jatau was a man of intellect, integrity, and service. He brought his wealth of knowledge from the ivory tower into government and deployed it diligently for the growth of our agricultural sector and the well-being of our people,” the governor said.
The governor extended his condolences to the late commissioner’s family, colleagues and the people of Adamawa State, describing his death as a significant loss to the state.
