Kebbi APC Stakeholders Criticise Senator Maidoki

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State have criticised Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, who represents Kebbi South Senatorial District, over his recent comments on security and political developments in the state.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the group accused the senator of making what it described as misleading claims and alleged that he has failed to provide effective representation for his constituents since assuming office.

The stakeholders argued that although Maidoki has expressed concern over insecurity in Kebbi South, particularly in the Zuru Emirate, he has not executed verifiable constituency projects or provided meaningful support to communities affected by the security challenges.

They also claimed that the senator failed to attend several consultative meetings involving government officials, traditional rulers and community leaders aimed at finding lasting solutions to insecurity in the area.

Responding to Maidoki’s reported claims about the APC, the stakeholders maintained that he was not a member of the party when its primary elections were conducted and, therefore, could not have been denied the party’s ticket.

The group further criticised remarks allegedly made by the senator regarding the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III, stressing that traditional institutions should remain above partisan political disputes.

According to the stakeholders, the Emir continues to enjoy the respect and support of the people of the Zuru Emirate and should not be drawn into political disagreements.

They urged Senator Maidoki to concentrate on delivering quality representation and addressing the needs of his constituents rather than engaging in political controversies, adding that Kebbi residents would continue to support leaders committed to service delivery and community development.
