
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has expressed profound grief over the passing of His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Olusegun Abayomi Rotimi JP, the Obajisun of Ayedun, at the age of 85.
In a condolence message issued by his Spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir described the late monarch as a revered traditional ruler, a bridge-builder, and a custodian of the rich cultural heritage of Ayedun Kingdom.
The Emir noted that the late Obajisun lived a life of service, peace, and dedication to the development of Ayedun and Kwara State.
On behalf of the entire membership of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Ayedun. He said:
“Obajisun was a wise and humble traditional ruler who promoted unity among his people and worked tirelessly for the progress of his community. His death is a great loss to Ayedun, Kwara State, and the entire traditional institution.”
The Emir also commiserated with the immediate and extended royal family, as well as the government and people of Kwara State over the loss and prayed that Almighty Allah grant the late monarch eternal rest and give the people of Ayedun the fortitude to bear the great loss.
