
Renowned Ilorin Waka musician, Alhaja Ruqayyat Batimoluwasi, is dead.
The veteran singer, who was popular for her soulful voice and indigenous songs, has passed away.
Until her death, Alhaja Batimoluwasi was a household name in Kwara State and beyond, celebrated for promoting Ilorin culture and tradition through Waka music.
Her songs were widely loved at weddings, naming ceremonies, and political gatherings across the state.
With her demise, EMIRATE RADIO 98.5 FM gathered that tributes have continued to pour in from fans, colleagues, and cultural stakeholders who described her as an icon of Waka music and a custodian of Ilorin’s heritage.
