The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is meeting with senior party leaders in Abuja to formally confirm Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate for the 2027 presidential election.

The meeting is taking place at the Continental Hotel, where party officials are expected to make the announcement official.

The move comes after months of speculation that President Tinubu could replace Shettima with a northern Christian as his vice-presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 polls.

Senior APC leaders at the venue confirmed that President Tinubu has re-nominated Shettima for a second-term ticket, ending uncertainty over the vice-presidential slot.

The expected announcement is set to reaffirm the APC’s presidential ticket as the party begins preparations for the 2027 general election.
