The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, in the sum of N2 billion over allegations of money laundering involving $2.63 million.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, who delivered the ruling on Monday, held that the offences against Bodejo are bailable and that the court had the discretion to grant his application.

The court ordered the defendant to produce two sureties in the sum of N2 billion each. One surety must be a resident of Abuja and present three years’ tax clearance, while the other must own landed property valued at N2 billion within the Federal Capital Territory.

Justice Ekwo also directed Bodejo to surrender his international passport to the court registrar and prohibited him from travelling outside Nigeria without prior approval of the court.

“The offence with which the defendant was charged is bailable, and the court has the discretionary power to exercise this in his favour,” the judge ruled.

The case was adjourned to October 5, 6 and 7, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
