An Ilorin-born scholar and Quranic translator, Dr. Daud Awwal, has paid a courtesy visit to EMIRATE RADIO 98.5 FM, pledging to partner with the station to promote Islamic scholarship and cultural heritage of the Ilorin Emirate.
The scholar is a UK-based journalist, researcher, author and public affairs analyst among other international accreditations and recognition.
Dr. Daud, who recently completed the translation of the Holy Quran into Yoruba and English languages, as well as a transliteration version, was received by the Managing Director/CEO of EMIRATE 98.5 FM, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Daud said the partnership with EMIRATE 98.5 FM would help in wider dissemination of the translated Quran and other Islamic educational content to listeners within and outside Kwara State.
He noted that the media remains a veritable tool for propagating Islamic values, preserving indigenous languages, and guiding the younger generation and expressed his delight over the quality broadcasting, media ethics and unique styles adopted by the station in its operations.
The scholar was featured in an hour special interview session live on air by the Managing Director/CEO of the station which attracted callers from within and outside the country.
In his response, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona commended Dr. Daud for the landmark achievement and described the proposed partnership as timely.
He assured him of the station’s readiness to collaborate on programs that will promote religious tolerance, scholarship, and the rich heritage of the Ilorin Emirate as well as other Corporate Engagements both nationally and globally.
The EMIRATE 98.5 FM boss however presented copies of some of his books and Magazines to Dr. Daud Awwal and urged him to sustain the Tempo of being good Ambassador of the Ilorin, Kwara State and Nigeria as well as Mentor to younger generation and humanity in general.
