Popular Nigerian influencer Tunde Ednut has alleged that the arrest of actress Regina Daniels’ close friend was triggered by Daniels’ recent public appearance with an alleged new partner abroad.

Ednut made the claim in an Instagram post on Monday while reacting to the arrest of Ann, identified as Daniels’ best friend, by the Lagos State Police Command.

Reports indicate that Ann was taken into custody over allegations of theft and other complaints reportedly filed by Senator Ned Nwoko, Daniels’ estranged husband.

The arrest came days after Daniels was seen in a nightclub overseas in the company of another man, fuelling speculation about her personal life.

Reacting to the development, Ednut appealed to Senator Nwoko to move on and allow Daniels and those close to her to live without harassment.

In a strongly worded post, the influencer acknowledged the senator’s influence but urged restraint. “You don’t have to keep arresting her family members. It’s enough. We know you are powerful and influential, but it’s time to move on,” Ednut wrote.

He further suggested that Daniels’ recent appearance may have prompted the action, adding that the senator should focus on his legislative responsibilities and leave the actress and her associates alone.
