Harrysong Says Kcee Dispute Once Hindered His Creativity

Nigerian singer Harrison Okiri, professionally known as Harrysong, has opened up about how his long-standing dispute with former record label boss Kcee affected his music career.

The Delta-born artist’s conflict with Kcee and 5ive Star Music began in 2017, when Harrysong accused the label of withholding royalties, imposing unfair treatment, and restricting his creative freedom. He also claimed to have written several hit songs for Kcee during his time at the label, a statement that prompted public responses from Kcee and intensified the dispute.

In a recent interview, Harrysong revealed that the feud often distracted him from his work. “The beef with Kcee used to distract me, it used to affect the music. Because most of the time, instead of recording, I would be thinking of how to reply Kcee and continue to fight. So, it distracted me. It affected my creativity,” he said.

Harrysong, however, confirmed that he has now resolved the issues with Kcee and 5ive Star Music.

He added that over time, he has developed resilience to controversies, allowing him to focus fully on his music without external distractions.

The revelation provides insight into the challenges artists face behind the scenes, highlighting how conflicts within the music industry can impact creative output.

Harrysong continues to release music and maintain his presence in the Nigerian music scene, emphasizing personal growth and professionalism.
