Kwara United Beat Warri Wolves, Escape Drop Zone

Kwara United recorded a vital 2–1 victory over Warri Wolves on Sunday at the Rashidi Yekini Main Stadium, Ilorin, to move out of the relegation zone in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Emirate 98.5FM correspondent, Abdulrahman Abdulrahman Afunja, reported that Olaniyi Saheed starred for the Harmony Boys, opening the scoring in the 17th minute.

Saheed doubled Kwara United’s advantage early in the second half, converting a penalty in the 48th minute to put the hosts firmly in control.

Warri Wolves pulled one back late in the encounter through Peter Ita, but the visitors’ effort was not enough to deny Kwara United maximum points.

The result lifted Kwara United from 19th to 17th position on the NPFL table with 27 points, significantly boosting their hopes of avoiding relegation this season.
